Erin Andrews suing for $10 million over peephole video incident
ESPN reporter and former Dancing with the Stars contestant Erin Andrews has filed a new $10 million invasion of privacy lawsuit.
In the suit, Andrews is asking $6 million, in addition to costs and interest, from the West End Marriott hotel where the incident took place and another $4 million from the man who taped her.
Michael Barrett, the Chicago man who pleaded guilty to stalking the reporter last year, was sentenced to 2 ½ years in federal prison.
Last year, Andrews sued her stalker, as well as several hotels where he secretly taped her nude, for invasion of privacy, negligence and emotional distress, saying the leaked footage caused her, “great emotional distress and embarrassment”.
According to the lawsuit, the hotel was guilty of negligence for letting Barrett know that Andrews was staying in the hotel and then allowing him to book a room next to her.
