NEWSPAPERS report that the recent holiday revelry was the deadliest--four deaths and 1,004 injured in the two-week period beginning Dec. 21 and ending Jan. 4. They are dazzling and delightful, yes. But beware, firecrackers are dangerous and deafening as well.
What is this fascination for firecrackers that causes many to risk getting maimed for life? It only takes one accident to irreparably change your life. Is it worth the risk? And it’s not just your life you put at risk but the innocent lives of many others, as well.

How about the innocent bystanders or curious children who get killed or maimed by firecracker explosions each year? Have you no heart for them?
Every year, emergency rooms are filled with victims of firecracker accidents-–burns, wounds and other injuries that can often cause amputations and sometimes, death. But the dangers posed by firecrackers are not limited only to the person or persons using them whose face, eyes and limbs could get wounded and burned due to close proximity to the pyrotechnics.
