A TEENAGER was subjected to a six-year catalogue of cruelty in which the child was scalded with hair straighteners, deprived of food and goaded into stamping on another youngster.

Stacey Peacock launched a campaign of abuse in which she tormented three children by kicking them, slapping them, bathing them in cold water and gouging their eyes.

And when one of her victims threatened to tell the local authority, the 33-year-old, of Linden Grove, Coxhoe, issued a chilling threat and said the child would be killed. She even branded the child a “compulsive liar”.

Peacock’s abuse came to light when one of her victims fled her care and was picked up by police after 24 hours on the run.

Officers noticed the youngster’s scar-ridden body and a pediatrician said he had “never seen so many marks and scars on a teenager in 31 years of child protection”.
