PETTY THEFT, LORAIN ROAD: Workers at Drug Mart told police Feb. 22 a woman tried to steal hair color and a pregnancy test from the store. The suspect put the items in her purse and tried to leave without paying for them. The total value of the merchandise was about $21.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT, LORAIN ROAD: Workers at a local supermarket told police Feb. 25 a man sitting on a bench outside the store was extremely drunk and unable to care for himself. Officers responded and turned the man over to his mother after citing him for disorderly conduct due to intoxication.

AUTO THEFT, COLUMBIA ROAD: Lakewood police told local authorities Feb. 10 they had recovered a car stolen from an apartment complex on Columbia. The owner was unaware of the theft at the time. According to reports, the unknown suspects left a car stolen from Brook Park in the victim’s parking space after taking her vehicle.

The great thing about home hair color kits is that they contain everything you need to dye your ‘do within one neat little box.

However to maintain the effect you can expect to touch up your roots at least once every 8 to 12 weeks, and there are some cheap and easily available items that can make that process so much less of chore.

Plastic wrap, or clingfilm, is the one essential we would never be without. Use it to wrap your hair once you have applied the dye and you can get on with life while the product does its job, without splattering a CSI worthy trail of fluid across walls and furniture.

Another great tip is to wrap your basin (and any other vulnerable surface) in film BEFORE you start mixing or applying the hair dye – once you are done you simply remove the film and with it any excess product that may have gone astray. Voila, a clean bathroom with no scrubbing!
