Woman's face swollen after hair dye job
NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - As the saying goes beauty is pain, and pain is beauty.
But, one Norfolk woman told WAVY.com it's not worth it.
Patrice Washington went to a beauty salon in Northern Virginia Saturday to get her hair colored, but the dye triggered a severe allergic reaction that left her face swollen.
"I wanted to do the jet black because my hair is naturally kind of a light brown," said Washington. "I just wanted to get the same haircut I've been getting for years."
Before and after pictures show the look Washington wanted and the look she got.
"I feel like a monster because I can't recognize my face," said Washington. "Kids are just looking at me crazy. This is ridiculous. My face is swollen. My scalp is all blistered. My hair is falling out. I just feel like the elephant man or something."

I've been to many haircoloring classes where they have said this so anyone telling you different is trying to make money off of you!
I will be the first one to admit that haircoloring at home is a pain, but hello: $6 vs $100-something. At home wins!
