My Fine Feathered Friends
Unofficially I collect feathers I find while out fly fishing. It does not matter if it is on a Hill Country stream or down at the nearby coast. Whether walking down the bank or paddling around on a shallow water flat, there is a feather waiting to be found from time to time.
Once I found a feather from a pink roseate spoonbill bird. If there was an example of perfection to be found in the universe, this was it. It was floating on the surface in absolute pristine condition. It must have been spring time as it was a very bright pink color. My mistake was picking it up. I had nowhere to stow it without damaging it. I had never encountered one before so I put it in one of my pockets on my chest pack. Days later when I emptied out the pockets, there it was, in not-so pristine condition anymore. Maybe I should practice “catch and release’ with feathers too.

@ @ yup very short with a hair band and a feather
Just because you have a feather in your hair and a head band wrapped around your head doesn't not make you a hippie.
I wonder if @ can make me a hair band inspired by Marion Contillard's in Midnight in Paris complete w/ feather poufball???
@ probably. aren't guns & roses the band that loves the hair feather thing? could be wrong. never a hair band fan
Or make your own with an at-home kit. - Feathers: Feathered clothing might be hard to come by, so opt for feathered jewelry like earrings and necklaces. Deepa Gurani makes a stunning feather collar necklace if you are looking to make a statement.
Imagine a town like a posh, horsey Jilly Cooper of a lady, swoosh of slightly bouffanty hair swept back with an alice band. Probably wearing jodhpurs and a jerkin. Game for anything. The kind of town most parents would love. That's Southwell.
One version of the truth is that Steven Tyler of the band Aerosmith wore a barred feather in his hair, like a hair extension, on the TV show American Idol. Another version is that a hair salon in Boulder, CO started the craze.
You can also ogle the footwear of famous people: author Margaret Atwood's peacock-feather pumps, Queen Victoria's teeny-tiny satin slippers, the Dalai Lama's flip-flops and Napoleon Bonaparte's black silk socks. I fall in love with the flashy high
