Do-it-yourself bridal
Brides-to-be in 2012 are excited about lots of different trends, including feathers, plenty of embellishments and gorgeous accessories that will complement the gown. But buying accessories can get expensive fast, and though it’s easy to get swept up in must-have-it thinking, you need to keep the reality of that budget in mind.
“If you’re only going to wear it once, it is hard to rationalize spending hundreds of dollars on accessories,” says Danielle de Luna, designer and creator of the DSMeeBee crafting blog.
That’s where DIY comes in. If you’ve ever looked at hair accessories or other wedding finery and thought they couldn’t be that hard to make, you might be right. Making your own bridal accessories not only gives you bragging rights, but it can also be a perfect way to achieve the look you want for less, de Luna says.
