California State Home and Garden Show today and Sunday
Joey Green doesn't usually shave with Jif peanut butter or polish the furniture with Spam, but he knows he can in a pinch.
"Necessity is the mother of invention," said the comedian and author of 47 books. "People find solutions to problems with what they have on hand."
And that could turn Jell-O into hair mousse or ChapStick into shoe polish.
"This shows you can actually have a fun time cleaning," Green added.
Nicknamed "Heloise from Hell," the wacky household-tips guru will be the featured attraction at this weekend's California State Home and Garden Show at the Sacramento Convention Center. Check www. calstatehomeshow.com for his show times.
This large show kicks off a full calendar of Northern California home and garden events for 2012. In addition to Green this weekend, patrons can get gardening tips from radio host "Farmer Fred" Hoffman, get organized with decluttering expert Lee Mahla and get motivated by scores of home and landscape professionals.
