Helmet Band-Its makes helmet safety fashion-friendly
Don't be surprised if you see some interesting headgear walking down Main Street during this year's Sundance Film Festival. It may be Robin Dorman showing off her patented Helmet Band-Its, a fashion statement for helmets. On or off her skis, Robin wants to bring awareness to helmet safety and launch her burgeoning business.
Dorman developed and is currently patenting her product, Helmet Band-Its, a headband for helmets. She said even if it is a simple band of faux fur or a handkerchief, her product can make a geeky helmet into a fashion statement for the mountain.
"This is a product that really looks good on everybody," Dorman said. "You don't have to look geeky in a helmet."
But that wasn't always how Dorman felt about helmets.
