Carbon is a completely matte black. It has no type of shimmer or sparkle at all. When I first bought it, I thought it was going to be super duper pigmented. It really isn't. I mean, it doesn't have BAD pigmentation, but totally not excellent, either. It has a really dry texture, which makes it a bit chalky. Therefore, not giving it much pigment. I definitely have to layer this eyeshadow a bunch, to be able to get it to look like it has good pigmentation. Even over UDPP (the primer I always turn to to make eyeshadows more vibrant and pigmented) this eyeshadow still has a lack of pigment. FINAL VERDICT- Carbon is a fine eye shadow, and a ton of beauty lovers consider it a cult favorite. My experiences were a bit different than that, but it is still good.
