CFA: Dangerous makeup
East Providence, R.I. (WPRI) - Many of us use makeup, lotions and sunscreens everyday to look better and be healthier, but now there's new concern they may actually be dangerous.
The problem is most people don't find out until they encounter an allergic reaction.
That's what happened to Becky Brosch.
"It was really painful. It was like I wanted to scratch my eyeball out," said Brosch.
She never had a problem with her eyeshadow until now.
"I was surprised. I was not aware you could develop an allergy out of nowhere to something you've used in the past," said Brosch.
For Becky, the solution was as simple as not wearing eyeshadow in the purple family.
She's not alone.
Doctors see allergic reactions all the time, typically to fragrances.
