A recent bout of seriously sensitive and dry skin, oh and an incident in which our fave Darphin Aromatic Seaweed Shower Gel, £21 was shamelessly snaffled by a family member, required an exploration of alternative cleansing avenues.

A’Kin Orange Blossom Body Wash, £9.45 - Smells don’t get much better than this. Fresh, ladylike and supremely delicate, this is quite possibly the perfect shower smell. Throw in a generous does of uber gentle and non-drying botanical cleansers and you’re there. Lovely!

A number of common oversights can lead to premature aging of the skin. Your daily skincare regimen doesn’t have to take hours to be effective. Read on for a few small tips that can make a big difference in the appearance of your skin.

Protect your skin from the sun. Sun damage is the number one cause of premature aging of the skin. You should limit the amount of time you spend in direct summer sunlight. When you can’t avoid going out you should always use SPF protection, even in the winter and even on your lips.

Don’t over-cleanse. Cleansing is a good thing when done in moderation, but remember that your skin naturally needs some oil to stay soft. Look for a cleanser that suits your skin type to avoid drying out or abrading your skin.

Moisturize every day! Moisturizing takes only a moment, and yet far too many people skip this simple step. Just as your body needs ample hydration, so does your skin. Take a minute in the morning and at night to apply a thin layer of collagen cream and moisturizer.
