Make your hair the life of the party
You've got the dress, but your hair is a mess. Well, maybe it's not all that bad, but you need a new look for the holidays.
Go glam, dramatic and sexy, says Holly Carter , beauty director for People StyleWatch magazine .
"This is when you pull out all the stops and really style your hair. It's the best time to try an up-do. It's more formal, festive and glamorous," she said.
The December issue of StyleWatch features an assortment of holiday hairstyles, including dressy buns, short 'dos, straight and wavy looks, retro waves and styles accessorized with glitzy headbands or jeweled barrettes.
Braids are a hot trend, Carter says, whether wrapped on top, on the side or along the hairline. She will be getting her own holiday braid at John Barrett 's new Braid Bar, a salon at Bergdorf Goodman in New York.
