Women's Expo a place for commerce, pampering
The department’s sixth annual Women’s Expo will be 10 a.m. to 2p.m. Saturday, March 10, at the Surf City Community Center, 201 Community Center Drive, and will feature at least 55 businesses and organizations.
Staff members say the festive event will be a place where women can “learn to pamper (themselves) with spa treatments, new hairstyles and makeup.”
“It’s just a great place to come and hang out, and that’s really what happens,” said Kristie Grubb, Surf City’s director of Parks and Recreation. “It’s a fun and nice thing we can provide to the community and get everybody together in one spot. A lot of our businesses are locally owned. Most of the people know each other, so it’s great time to have fun and see people you haven’t seen in a long time because you haven’t really had a chance to go by the business.”
