Homeless Women Treated To Free Haircut, Style

OMAHA, Neb. -- A group of homeless women in Omaha received a special gift of haircut, color and style for free on Tuesday.

Rain Skenandore is one of the nearly 50 women who got their hair cut and styled for free as part of the Matrix Hair Care Company's Chairs for Change initiative.

"I bet this means a million bucks to everybody," Skenandore said. "It's nice to see everybody happy. It's good."

Event coordinator Tori Poulter said the initiative aims to help dozens of women staying at homeless shelters, like the Siena Francis Homeless Shelter, smile this holiday season.

"At Matrix, we really have the belief that as a hairdressing community, we have more power than we realize," Poulter said.

Organizers said the event goes much deeper than a new haircut
