I’m a Varsity HS soccer player. My nearest sporting goods store only carries mens adidas copa’s which a lot of my teammates claim are exceptional shoes. Will it make any difference wearing a male shoe?
Short answer: yes. However, men’s shoes are typically wider than women’s shoes so if you have narrow to average feet you will have difficulty finding off the shelf men’s shoes that fit you properly. If you have wide feet, like my daughter, you may find that men’s shoes actually fit you better. The main thing is to try the shoes on wearing the same socks, shin guards, ankle braces, etc. that you will be wearing in a game and then get a pair that fits properly. You don’t want them too snug or they will cause foot cramping. You don’t want them too loose or you’ll get blisters or slip out of them while playing.
